CHECK THIS SONG OUT!!!
Me friend recommended this song coz he's nuts over 《恶魔在身边》

5 DAYS IN HIBERNATION
Cannot tahan liaoz. 5 full days in Victor's, no gym, no shopping, no better food..... no Da Vinci Code!!! Can't believe that the movie I've been waiting for for 6 months has finally come out and I'm not scheduled to watch it till 2 June 2006??!! I wanna go watch so many movies!!
Having headache at present. Not enough rest. No life.
My friend asked me if I wanna meet up with her in Tokyo on 11 June 2006. Should I try to apply for leave? Hmmm... I wanna go but 1 week? Or should I just tong until August and then go for 2 weeks? Or better still (as though I have loads of money), I go for 1 week now, then 2 weeks in August and then 2 weeks to NZ in December? *scratches head* *bangs head* Still no answer. Decisions decisions. Haiz....

Anyhows, the weekend is here and it's Vesak Day tomorrow. Long weekend!! So glad for the break, not so much that i'm going to Malacca with my extended family.

WHAT'S RIGHT WITH CHIAM SEE TONG?
Another amazing victory by Chiam See Tong. And like he said, the victory belongs to the people of Potong Pasir. It REALLY takes guts to go against the ruling party for over 2 decades. It's not about the party. I mean, contesting under SPP after a last minute party switch in the previous elections? And now SDA, which is actually just an alliance of a few political parties? This guy must be really good. And the residents are really rebels. Heehee. Good for them!! Higher winning percentage too this time round. Upgrading carrot just not good enough again. In my words, government should just go ahead and give these opposition wards the upgrade and the people would probably end up voting for them. Threats just don't work anymore, not with kids, neither with people with voting rights.

KUDOS TO HOUGANG
2nd result of the GE2006 announced tonight and the single ward of Hougang goes to.... drumroll please.......
LOW THIA KHIANG OF THE WORKERS' PARTY!!!
ALRIGHT!! The Hougang residents have spoken!! A whopping 62.74% of votes!!! THey've got the guts and they're not stupid!! They're not hungry for a $100 million carrot. It's still just a carrot!

COUNTDOWN TO THE POLLS
3 more days to polling day!!! I can barely wait!!!
Haven't gone for any of the rallies though. Reading the papers and web about the arguments that PAP is having with the opposition is pretty hilarious. Teo Chee Hean actually criticised Chiam See Tong for bringing in people like Ling How Doong and Chee Soon Juan into politics. Has PAP gotten so desperate that they have to backtrack to something that happened so long ago and make a personal attack like that? They are not too sure that they will regain the Potong Pasir ward, are they? Well, PAP will win Potong Pasir this time, just based on the magical word "UPGRADING".

STEAMY CONVERSATIONS
Location: Steam Room in California Fitness Bugis
Attendees: Towel-wrapped women
A peaceful soothing time in the steam room was what I had been looking forward to. However, it was not to be, though it WAS rather entertaining. Beats listening to mad women laugh loudly in an enclosed steam room whom you wanna tell to shut up but can't.
A: You need to vote or not?
B: No need.
A: Who's your MP?
B: That Lim... Lim.... Say Swee
A: Oh... LIM SWEE SAY ah
.........yak.......yak......yak......
A: 以前十年前,their slogan was 投票是神圣的。
B: No lor, where got 神圣one. The voting slip got serial number, can track one. Don't next time want to have business dealings with government later they check then they don't want to do business with you.
Amazing how much Singaporeans know about their MPs. Well, I for one never knew who my MP was despite living at the same place for 10 years already. Only found out when I went to the government website last year to key in my postal code, that I'm part of east Coast GRC. Isn't that fantastic?! But then again, girls B is quite duh. Who doesn't know Lim Swee Say now?
My MP came round knocking on our door today and my mum (weirdly enough) ran into my room. We didn't open the door at all, but my mum somehow felt safer in my room. Haha. Raymond Lim was his name. His picture hangs outside by the road. They were campaigning the WHOLE DAY in my area. Even when i got back at 730pm, the van was still driving round broadcasting the recorded message. Honestly, if the MPs actually come around once in a while, it would seem more sincere.

Oh yes, my friend was saying something like all PAP could offer the Potong Pasir landed property owners was something like better street lamps.

Exactly before that I told my parents that no one ever thinks of offering the landed property owners any form of incentive (Hougang aside coz they're fighting a losing battle). I was like "What can they offer us? Plant more trees and flowers? Or instead of every 10m 1 lamp-post, they give us a lamp-post every 8m?".
